The Ultrasonic Spray System is a device developed for the fabrication and deposition of thin films via spray. This system has been designed with the objective to perform spray coating techniques, such as Sol-Gel, which require uniform and very small drop sizes. Thanks to its ultrasonic spray nozzle, the system is capable to produce drops with an average diameter of 20-50 micrometers and a very uniform tight drop distribution. Moreover, ultrasonic nozzle allows superior spray and coating results as well as a reduction of the coating material. The dissolution is supplied through a syringe pump which offers high precision, versatility, inter-change and an easily used system.

Ultrasonic spray systems have replaced pressure nozzles in a wide range of industrial and R&D applications. For substrate coatings, moisturizing, thin film coatings, spray drying, web coating, fine line spraying, and many other industrial and R&D applications, ultrasonic nozzles yield results far superior to other techniques. Contrary to typical pressure nozzles the ultrasonic nozzles have the technological advantage of being more precise, more controllable and more environmentally friendly. They deliver a soft spray, which reduces over spraying considerably which not only reduces atmospheric contamination but also saves money.

  • Deposition of thin films with different thickness using stable nano-colloidal solutions.
  • Layer deposition on circular and cylindrical surfaces.

Details of technical specifications are presented in the following Table.

The conventional spray methods create droplets with a wide range of sizes, which affects the quality of the deposited thin film and makes it difficult to control the thickness of the layer. The ultrasonic technique makes it possible to form droplets with very small sizes and uniform distribution. By using ultrasonic spray technique, thin layers with controllable thicknesses can be coated.

  • The device should be repaired by a skilled expert.
  • Make sure the surface is clean and dry.
  • Use a stable colloidal solution. Sedimentation in short time has a significant effect on the quality of the coating layer.
  • The maximum viscosity of solution should be in the range of 1000-1200 cp.
  • Avoid using the system without a solution.
  • After each use, the nozzle should be firstly washed with the solvent of the solution and then with 5 ml of alcohol and acetone.
  • For more details on how to use the device, refer to the device catalog and user guide.
  • To connect the appliance to the power supply, be sure to use a UPS to prevent damage to the device due to the power loss and common electrical fluctuations.
  • Ensure electronic board is protected from moisture.
